This contemporary jewellery exhibition combines works by Bongani Mashange, Khanya Mthethwa, Thato Radebe, and the community-driven initiative, Kioni. It delves into the rich intersections of identity, heritage, and craftsmanship, fostering a compelling dialogue between tradition and modernity. Rooted in Southern African cultures, the exhibition showcases a dynamic exploration of both personal and collective narratives, with a strong focus on African identity. From the symbolic art of beading to reinterpretations of iconic indigenous artefacts like the Mapungubwe Rhino and snuff spoons, these pieces reimagine cultural stories, bridging the gap between past and present.
